Curvy Kate Collection Reviewed

October 25, 2008 | 7 Comments More

Curvy Kate Portia I don’t say this often but WOW, Curvy Kate is one of the few brands that I’ve worn that fits like a glove and gave the feeling of not wearing a bra, which in my opinion has to be exactly how a bra should feel.

After 10 years of trading, Brastop.com saw a gap in the market. Many of the big brands don’t design lingerie with the busty customer in mind. Brastop understood that customers were seeking youthful, fun, brighter styles that still offered great support and comfort. After several years of product development with some of the top suppliers in the industry Brastop.com launched the Curvy Kate range offering gorgeous lingerie for real women that’s guaranteed to flatter a curvy figure.

The Curvy Kate collection has to one of the best to offer a wide selection of styles and colours to ladies needing larger sized bras. These are bras that don’t look like something your granny may have worn years ago. Lets face it, its hard to feel sexy if you’re wearing something that just holds everything stiff and makes you feel all uncomfortable.

Curvy Kate’s Portia in Black/Pink was the first style available in July 2007 and still remains their best seller. Brastop’s customers love the fact that Curvy Kate bras offer the support that bigger boobs need. Their special design means the bra shapes your boobs while still offering luxurious comfort, a rarity when carrying a heavy load! This collection goes up to a H cup with a 28 – 40 back and now with the success of this style the Emily bra was produced and with more fittings both ranges now fit up to a J cup.

These bras are full of vibrant colours, patterns and gorgeous trimmings of lace and bows, that contrast well with the main colours of every bra.

As I said at the beginning of this feature, the feel of the Curvy Kate bra on your skin is heavenly, no tight straps leaving marks, no feeling that you can’t wait to take it off at the end of the day and most of all no worries about the wires poking into your ribs or boobs.

Important factors for any bra that I should cover here are that yes, you can run for the morning train or bus and feel confident that you’re not going to spill over the cups. Yes there may still be some bounce but you’ll have the support and comfort too. Will I feel sexy and be able to show off my figure in this range, Yes you can, and to top it all you can wear bright colours that always give us a little boost.

For 2008 Brastop have produced another great style in the Curvy Kate collection called the Princess bra. Now they have three favourites, the styles come in a wide variety of colours that are perfect for the all seasons! Over the next 6 months with their array of gorgeous colours being produced, Brastop.com are predicting a huge growth in the brand.

The Curvy Kate bras might be good for the “smaller” cup sizes (i.e. D-G) but they do nothing for my 32J boobs. The proportions of the cup to the back of the bra is all wrong (the cups are too wide and the the two cups together are wider than the band at the back), which makes the cups disappear around the sides of the body under my arms, which is very uncomfortable, impractical and unflattering. I suspect the design flaw is more apparent the larger the cup size and the smaller the back size, which is why the 32J doesn’t work. Curvy Kate could learn a few lessons in design and proportion from Kalyani to bring everything up front where it should be.

Thank you Anne for your feedback. As a brand we strive to meet our customers
needs and we carefully consider any comments we receive. We make every
effort to offer the best quality and support. We therefore are surprised
    with your comments.

The Curvy Kate range has been developed over several years, working with
some of the best manufacturers and designers in the business. The product
has been tested with every size requirement in mind. As we have three retail
outlets it is very easy for us to test all of our products, from D cups to K
cups. In recent months we have changed the underwiring of Curvy Kate to
offer even more support and strengthened the back panel to increase the
    comfort.

The Curvy Kate brand has remained our best seller for the last 18 months and
the J cups sells just as well as the smaller cups sizes with a very low
    return rate.

It is very disappointing to hear this feedback but every woman’s breast
shape is different and a person who may suit a Kalyani bra may be a very
different shape to a wearer of Panache, Freya or Curvy Kate. It is important
to find the right brand, cut and shape for you. As it is so difficult to
find small back sizes with larger cups, we really hope that through the
variety offered with Curvy Kate there will be a style that suites you and
    supports you.

The fit of the bra is very important and can change the shape and feel of a
bra completely if done incorrectly. We do offer a guide online to help with
    home fitting.

I’m new to the ‘my bra actually fits’ club. I live in America, where a 28FF is completely unheard of. I have purchased two Freya bra’s, and they seem to fit me very well. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how a Curvy Kate bra fits as compared to a Freya as far as sizing goes? Thank you!!!!!

    So far so good. :)

I have to say i love curvy kate, I have about 5 of their bras in a 32J and it’s lovely, being only 20 it’s hard to be put into grandma or pointy boob bras, but you never have that problem with curvy kate. Keep up the good work, perhaps a little bit larger in the show girl range, just need that one cup size more and i’ll get into it :)

I actually had the oppisite, I hated the Kalyani bras as they looked pointed on me, and that isn’t the shape i wanted, but each to their own. Perhaps curvy kate are better for a firmer bust. (i’m also a 32J but i’m 20 so it’s pretty firm and doesn’t need heaps of lift)
