Getting Fitted at Bravissimo
We all need to be sized from time to time and it seems I really did need sorting out. Although I had re-sized myself recently to a 34DD I still wasn’t in the right size, as I found out on my day out at the Solihull branch of Bravissimo.
So, my appointment was at 11am I just needed to find the store, which it turned out wasn’t difficult, its huge and very brightly decorated!
I didn’t have long to wait before Pauline my fitter took me through to the changing rooms and we got stuck in discussing my size and the current bra that I was wearing, which I knew was the wrong size but a favourite of mine. Just by looking at me Pauline knew that I was wearing completely the wrong size bra and which size I should be wearing. She went off to get a few bras in the size we’d discussed and when I tried the first one on it was clear that the bra fitted me perfectly, gave much more support and would give me great shape. My boobs even sit in the correct place on my chest which is such a great feeling. They don’t use tape measures, which is great because I don’t hold with measuring and adding on as it makes no sense to me at all, and Bravissimo have the same stance on this.
Lingerie buying can be fraught with problems, like finding the right size and style of bra for your shape. With all the different brands and styles it can be tricky finding the right bra but having help from a professional fitter can make the difference. I didn’t have to go back and forth to find bras I liked, there was a catalogue in the changing room so I could browse a little and try on whatever I fancied.
As I’ve always said certain styles and brands just don’t suit some of us, but there are plenty that do. For example I’ve found that strapless bras, whether in the correct size or not, are not always the most practical or supportive bras to wear. Plunge bras need to be worn in the correct size to give you the right look and padded doesn’t mean better support, the correct size bra does!
After much trying on of various bras I chose a lovely everyday Bravissimo bra in my new size 32F(!), it’s practical, supportive, feminine in style and has no padding but gives me a good shape and my clothes look as though they fit better too.
I have to say from wearing a 36D-DD for years then self-sizing to 34D, thinking I’d got it right, I really was shocked to know that in fact my true size is a 32E-F depending on the style and brand of bra! I never imagined my bra size could change quite so much, besides I’m supposed to know what I’m doing being the Lingerieblog lady!
