The Ayten Gasson Label continues to not only design and source in the UK, but all pieces are made in either London or Wales and trimmed using vintage lace made in Nottingham’s oldest lace mill. Each item from their skirted knickers to their hand made eye masks emphasizes the history of the British lace industry, many of these mills have now closed. The Ayten Gasson label is stocked around the world in high end lingerie boutiques, and has sold out for the fourth season in a row in Topshop’s flagship London store. Ayten Gassons AW10 collection features many key trends for this season. Lace, Print, Boudoir and a pretty pastel palette of colours with bold contrasts and trimmings. Style and elegance have always been at forefront of Ayten Gassons collections and the new AW2010 is no exception to that rule. London based designer Ayten Gasson continues to use the finest British lace, and this season they are inspired by the luxury of regency monarchy to create their collection.
New additions to the collection include the silk Waspie, they’ve been heavily influenced by the corsetry of the regency period. Colours such as olive, plum, bronze, gold and black have been used to recreate the style and elegance of that period. A bold new addition to the AW10 collection is a limited edition silk collection that utilises a classic Liberty print and combines it with modern styling to create something truly unique.
Only the finest trimmings, sourced locally from old lace mills in Nottingham are used in the new collection. Nottingham lace is renowned for its high quality and beauty with Leavers lace being the most exceptional.
New shapes for this season include a front fastening Waspie, boned and bound with silk binding with back ribbon lacing, and a seductive Balcony Bra. Classic styles making a return to the Ayten Gasson collection are the signature Skirted Knickers, Kimonos, and vintage Teddies. Matching silk Eyemasks, still made in house, are also available for each range.
