Amoralia, designers of beautiful underwear for pregnant women and nursing mothers, unveil the new wonder fabric “Bamboo” – in its Spring Summer ’08 collection. With raised awareness of the impact of the textile business on the environment, Amoralia plans to develop a greener profile, not only in the use of environmentally friendly fabrics but also through ecological packaging, low impact dyes and more efficient shipping.
New this season is Crush, a cute but stylish sleepwear set featuring a maternity camisole with secret support and matching shorts or capri pants made from bamboo cotton.
A soft bamboo jersey will also replace the existing cotton lining in Amoralia’s best-selling ranges, Nougatine and Embrace.
Amoralia Managing Director, Jules Fossett told Lingerieblog.co.uk, “Bamboo is an incredible fabric. It’s highly absorbent, anti-bacterial, naturally breathable, soft, smooth and luxuriously comfortable. It has so many properties that are perfect for maternity underwear. It’s also 3 – 4 times more absorbent than cotton and draws away moisture. And the best thing of all is that it is environmentally friendly.“
“We want to use truly sustainable bamboo – that has sustained production and conservation – and see that it has been processed ecologically. We are just in the process of sourcing bio-degradable, compostable packaging; this is an important way forward for the company.”
Amoralia, which counts Hollywood star Rachel Weisz and supermodel Karen Elson among its fans, has become known for its ultra-glamorous designs and innovative approach.
