Can you help a new designer?

August 21, 2009 | 0 Comments More

We’ve been contacted by new designer Katherine Kennedy who’s working with the Princes Trust to start her new business designing 1920′s – 1940′s handmade lingerie. She’s after your answers to a few questions!

Katherine’s background is in Fashion, which she then chose to deviate from and specialise in Lingerie. She has worked directly within the lingerie industry at Harvey Nichols in London, and for the lingerie company Bendon and is also trained bra fitter.

Katherine told Lingerieblog.co.uk, “I am setting up as a Lingerie and Loungewear Atelier, focusing on the luxury market; predominantly handmade and handstitched silk reproduction pieces from original 1920s to 1940s designs and patterns. The business will also include a bridal trousseau service as well as original custom designs. As an atelier, working primarily on a commission basis; I will offer a bespoke and made-to-measure service, which compliments the current mood for British and ethically made products – but to a luxury standard, in terms of materials, workmanship and attention to detail.”
