Ultimo Sign ‘Too Fat’ Model
Ultimo has sensationally appointed ex-Wonderbra model Katie Green, who was controversially criticised by a modeling agency for being ‘too fat’! Katie, who is a healthy size 12, will join Ultimo as one of the faces of the D-G Cup range.
Michelle Mone, creator of Ultimo, told Lingerieblog.co.uk, “I was really shocked to hear that Katie had been told that she was ‘too fat’ to model lingerie. She has an incredible shape and represents real women throughout the UK. We’re delighted to have her on board; I’m sure she’ll be a huge success and a wonderful ambassador for Ultimo."
“By signing Katie, it proves that models don’t have to be a size zero to look fabulous or to have a successful modeling career. It’s also a bold message to all those big-name brands out there that discriminate against curvy girls.
“Unlike a lot of bra firms, Ultimo support and celebrate real women – who I’m positive will be green with envy when they see the new pictures of Katie! Her figure is beautiful and she looks so sexy in the latest Ultimo designs.
Katie will join Spice Girl Mel B, the official face and body of Ultimo, and Melinda Messenger, the face of Ultimo D-G Cup, to represent the brand and will shoot her first Ultimo campaign later this month.
Katie Green told us, “I’m thrilled to be joining the team of women who represent Ultimo. It’s great to see such an established lingerie brand backing curvier women – I really feel like I’ve been thrown a life line. Earlier this week I felt like my modelling career was over, but now it feels like it’s just the beginning! I’ve always been a massive fan of Ultimo lingerie and I can’t wait to model their latest designs. It’s a dream come true.”
Ultimo D-G is available at Debenhams stores nationwide and online at Figleaves.com
